Equipping Young People for Lifelong Faith
The Confirmation Programme continues to play a pivotal role in the spiritual development of our young people. Designed to deepen understanding of Christian faith and encourage personal spiritual growth, the programme guides candidates through a journey of learning, reflection, discipleship, and service. Throughout the year, participants engage in meaningful discussions, practical learning experiences, and opportunities to strengthen their relationship with God while growing alongside their peers.

A Transformative Confirmation Camp Experience
A significant milestone in this year’s programme was the Confirmation Camp held from the 26th to the 28th of June at Ha Phororo Retreat Camp. The camp provided candidates with an opportunity to step away from their daily routines and immerse themselves in a focused spiritual environment dedicated to reflection, prayer, and personal growth.

The retreat was carefully structured to expose participants to a variety of spiritual practices and experiences that encourage a deeper understanding of faith. Through guided activities and facilitated discussions, candidates were invited to explore important questions about their beliefs, identity, purpose, and relationship with God.

Key elements of the camp included: Guided prayer sessions, quiet reflection and silent contemplation, Labyrinth walks and spiritual exercises, small-group discussions, opportunities for honest questions and dialogue, community-building activities, and spiritual formation experiences.

The Alpha Weekend
The Alpha Weekend teachings provided the confirmation class an opportunity for spiritual introspect and to connect and experience the guidance, counselling and the Holy Spirit. These experiences created space for young people to grow spiritually while strengthening relationships with fellow candidates and church leaders.

The Importance of Mentorship and Leadership
The success of the Confirmation Camp was made possible through the dedication of ministry leaders and facilitators who invested their time, energy, and wisdom into the lives of the candidates. Special appreciation is extended to our Rector, Revd. Sharmain and the team of facilitators who accompanied the young people throughout the retreat. Their guidance, encouragement, and commitment helped create an environment where participants could engage meaningfully with their faith journey. Strong mentorship remains an essential part of the confirmation process, helping candidates develop a faith that is informed, personal, and active.

Looking Ahead to Confirmation
The next major milestone for our candidates will be the regional Confirmation Service scheduled for the 19th of September. This special occasion marks the culmination of months of preparation, learning, prayer, and spiritual growth. In the build up to this important event, candidates are continuing their formation through acts of service within the parish. These practical opportunities encourage them to live out their faith by serving and contributing to the life of the church community. We invite the congregation to continue to pray for all confirmation candidates as they complete their journey and prepare to publicly affirm their faith.

As we reflect on the activities of recent months, we are grateful for God’s faithfulness and for the many volunteers, leaders, parents, and young people who contribute to the life of our ministry. From children’s programmes and holiday activities to youth leadership
opportunities and confirmation formation, we are witnessing growth, enthusiasm, and a deepening sense of community among our young people.

We remain committed to nurturing the next generation, helping children and youth discover their gifts, strengthen their faith, and become active participants in God’s work within the world. With continued prayer and support, we look forward to seeing these ministries continue to flourish in the months ahead.
