Save the Date – 2026 Golf Day
Join us again on 7 October 2026 at Kyalami Golf Club for another memorable St Stephen’s Annual Golf Day. We look forward to seeing you there!
The 2025 St Stephen’s Annual Golf Day took place on 22 October 2025 at the scenic Kyalami Golf Club, where players enjoyed a beautiful mid‑spring morning and excellent golfing conditions. Sunlight danced off the surrounding water features—hazards that tested the skills of both seasoned golfers and newcomers throughout the day. Before tee‑off, participants warmed up at the putting greens, looking every bit the part in their smart golf attire. The first four‑ball teed off promptly at 11:20am, beginning what proved to be a lively and enjoyable competition. Although turnout was 14 four‑balls out of the 22 booked, the spirit on the course remained high, and the day was filled with fun, laughter, excitement and a spirit of great sportsmanship.
Prize-Giving and Acknowledgements
The evening concluded with dinner and an engaging prize‑giving ceremony hosted by our very able Andile. The awards were presented by our Chief Guests Caron Peterson and Rev. Sharmain James, recognizing outstanding play and contributions to the event. We extended our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors, which included Thesele, BLUU, IMT, Morebo, Nyaradzo Financial Services, and several others individual donors whose support made the day possible. Ultimately, everyone who contributed was a winner. Each person involved helped make the 2025 Golf Day a meaningful success.
Celebrating Our Beneficiaries
We were honoured to have several Education Fund beneficiaries join us at the dinner: Hannah‑Rose Nicholson, Odogwu Eneh, and Kotulo (now studying at Rhodes University). Their personal stories highlighted the real impact of the St Stephen’s Education Fund and affirmed the church’s role in caring for the needy. Their gratitude and achievements are a testament to what this initiative continues to accomplish. We cannot over emphasize the integrity with which the management of the fund is being administered. This reflects the ethos and values of St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Sunninghill.
About the St Stephen’s Education Fund
Launched in 2017 in response to Archbishop Thabo Makgoba’s call to invest in young people, the St Stephen’s Education Fund provides support to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. Funds raised through the Annual Golf Day help cover essential educational costs, e.g., school fees, uniforms, textbooks etc., for families in need. To date, the Fund has supported numerous learners, including Bachelor‑pass achievers and even a recipient of the prestigious Allan Gray Fellowship at UCT. It currently assists 14 students across four schools, with three who sat for Matric in 2025. This is the heart of the Golf Day: enabling young people to thrive and shaping future generations through education.
