The youth of St Stephen’s Sunninghill brought energy, passion and faith to the forefront when they led the parish service on Sunday, 14 June 2026.

The special youth-led service showcased the gifts and talents of the church’s young people, who embraced the opportunity to serve with enthusiasm and confidence. From the opening moments of the service, the youth played an active role, leading various aspects of worship and demonstrating their commitment to growing in faith and service.

One of the highlights of the morning was the scripture readings, which were delivered with great enthusiasm and conviction. The young readers engaged the congregation and brought the day’s readings to life.

The service also featured a live podcast hosted by the youth. In an open and honest conversation, the young people reflected on some of the challenges they face as they seek to navigate their faith in today’s world. Topics discussed included peer pressure, maintaining a relationship with God amid busy schedules and remaining grounded in Christian values in an increasingly complex society.

The discussion resonated with many in the congregation and offered a glimpse into the realities faced by young people as they strive to live out their faith.

The podcast concluded on a joyful note with an energetic dance performance that drew enthusiastic applause from the congregation. The vibrant display of worship and celebration highlighted the creativity and passion of the youth and served as a reminder that faith can be expressed in many different ways.

The morning was capped off by a powerful sermon from Youth Pastor, Dr Bolanle Enang, who shared a message centered on the theme that God always does things better.

Her message challenged both young and old to place their confidence in God and to remember that His ways are always higher and better than our own.

The youth-led service was a wonderful celebration of faith, fellowship and the important role that young people play in the life of the church. Their enthusiasm, honesty and willingness to serve were an inspiration to the congregation and a testament to the bright future of St Stephen’s Sunninghill.
