Precepts
This is one of the consolidated ways in which one can learn the intricacies of the Bible.  We offer this program at the parish and those who would like to study the word of God can join the group.
Sunday school

Looking for individuals who can assist in the smooth running of the Sunday School and its teaching, in particular some more male teachers. Sunday School classes are grouped according to age. If you have a strong voice and musical talent, consider helping lead the children’s praise and worship in the hall before they go to their classes.

Teaching Programmes
St Stephen’s has created a culture of providing teaching programmes twice a year.  We are looking for individuals that can help with the facilitating of these teaching programmes and make sure that we keep abreast of where society’s needs are.

Women

Anglican Women's Fellowship (AWF)
This is an established organization that forms part of the wider AWF body of the Anglican Church.  They meet once a month at the church (usually on the third Saturday of the month) as well as joining in events with the Diocese at different parishes.  They are involved with several projects making sure that the love of God is shared with those that are going through difficulties.
Divine Divas
The Divine Divas are a group of ladies that get together every second Friday evening for praise and worship and a time of fellowship.
Mother's Union (MU)
This is an established organization that forms part of the wider Mothers’ Union body of the Anglican Church.  They meet every third Sunday of the month at the church (after the 08h30 service).  They are involved with several projects making sure that the love of God is shared with those that are going through difficulties.  One of the key pillars of Mothers’ Union is to be an organization of prayer.

Men

Men's Ministry (Link)
Currently there is a men’s ministry called Link.  They meet the second Tuesday of every month.

Cell Groups
Want to be part of a cell group that takes place in different homes and are facilitated by individuals who feel confident that they can manage a group of people.
Hiking Team
Hikes are organized during the year.   If you would like to become part of this hiking team, please indicate here.
Social Outreach Programmes
Sunninghill works on the principle that tithing should be something that we expect from our people but also something we practice as a parish.  We are therefore asking individuals to volunteer to engage with the social outreach programs of our community.
Visiting Team
We would like to establish a team that will participate in visiting parishioners on a regular basis.  This will help the clergy to get to know if there are concerns within the community but also to affirm the different families that make up the community of St Stephen’s.

In Church

Data Projector
To operate the computer at the back of the church during services.
Live Streaming
Our services are streamed on YouTube every Sunday.  We would like to expand our team of volunteers.  Training will be provided.

These are individuals that prepare the vestments and the cruets for the communion service on a Sunday.  They also make sure that the altar linen is clean at all times.
Server's Guild
Is a team of young people that is involved in the serving at the altar.
Service Leader
If you believe you have a calling to this ministry please speak to the Rector as the appointment of service leaders’ is a little more involved.

Please indicate which service you prefer (07h00 or 08h30)
Welcome Team / Desk
Individuals that visit the church often do so with the intention of joining or needing baptism, marriage, etc.  The welcome desk provides a facility for people to ask questions and help them feel that they have been listened to.  We are looking for individuals to form part of this team.
Young Adults (YASS)
This ministry is for 21 years olds and above.  This community meets bi-weekly for a time of fellowship and discussion.

Church Surroundings

Garden
This portfolio looks after the gardens of the church to make sure that even the outward space reflects the love of God.
Maintenance
The parish has several buildings and a parish house and very often there are maintenance issues that arise on an ongoing basis.  We would like to appeal to parishioners to avail themselves to take care of the property of the church.

Music

Marimbas
St Stephen’s invested in a beautiful set of marimbas.  We are looking for individuals that are willing to play marimbas.
Music Group
This group leads the church in music on Sundays and special occasions.  Anyone with a voice and willingness to sing must please join.

Prayers

Prayer Counsellor During Communion
One of the ministries offered at St Stephen’s is for people to come and receive specific prayers during the communion time.  This is a therapeutic exercise both for the person receiving prayers and for the individual that is doing the praying.  We are looking for more people to train in this ministry.

Support Activities

Book Reviews
One of the ways that growth happens in individual’s lives is through reading, but one often does not have the time to go and research a good book.  Having individuals do book reviews help not only themselves to reflect on what they have read but also those who are looking for material to read.  These book reviews are published in the pew leaflet which is also available on our Facebook page.
Catering
Helping to prepare meals for special events e.g. funerals, fund raising events, etc
First Aid
Please indicate if you can assist in emergencies where first aid or medical attention is needed
Fund Raising
To organize fund raising projects, giving opportunity for fellowship.
Legal Advice
Very often there are individuals in the parish who are unable to afford a lawyer.  We are looking for individuals trained in law to be able to journey with people as and when advice is needed.  This includes those preparing for marriage and requiring information concerning marriage contracts.
Library
Currently looking for someone to take up this ministry to maintain the upkeep of the library. Our library is opposite the Cry Room and open for self-service every Sunday morning.
Liturgical Dance
This is one way in which we can express ourselves in the act of worship.  We would like to encourage all those interested in learning liturgical dance to indicate their willingness.
Marketing
The church, like any other organization, must market itself but it also has the opportunity to provide marketing for companies, individuals, etc.  We are looking for a team of individuals that will be able to utilise the assets of St Stephen’s for marketing and at the same time market the church as being a space and place that provides love, compassion, support, etc.

Social Media

St Stephen’s website, Facebook and other social media platforms requires a vibrant team to create and upload content for marketing and awareness of our activities within the community. We are in urgent need of volunteers.

Quiet Mornings / Retreats
For many Christians there is a need for a space to become quiet to be able to better hear God’s Word and discern God’s mind.  This ministry is one of our weak areas within St Stephen’s due to the lack of interested/qualified individuals to facilitate it.
Theological Vocation Group
There are several members that are studying towards a theological degree.  We meet on a bi-monthly basis to make sure that we support each other in our studies and to affirm each other in the formation programme of the Diocese.  If you would like to pursue studying Theology, please indicate.
